In 2002 I started homeschooling and unschooling my children. I have extensive experience working with children and teens. Over the years I have done respite care for special needs children and teen, worked in a group home and worked with a marching band for many years.
In 2010, I was sure my life was over. I was a homeschooling Mom of 4 kids. I could barely keep a roof over our head and the kids fed. I was also due to have another baby any day. I was depressed and feeling hopeless. I had to sit my kids down and tell them we couldn’t afford Christmas that year.
2011, I put an ad on Craigslist looking for a school bus to convert. I got a response! The man even said I could make payments. I bought a bus and converted with free things from Craigslist. We set off in the spring on an adventure we would never forget!
I knew in my heart that living a nomadic life would be cheaper than living a conventional life in a house. I was SO RIGHT!!! We have been living on $1000/month or less since 2011. I like to say we live on an ultra low budget.
We went internationally traveling in October of 2011. We haven’t looked back! I have learned so much over the years and I love to share my knowledge and enthusiam for worldschooling and living life on the road with others!
